Let’s go through some troubleshooting steps and check the hardware and software…. Although the steps on this page may look complicated at first glance, you only need to perform them in order and step-by-step. We’ll try to keep you on the right track. You use safe mode for many of the steps, because it starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers to help you limit the problems.  You can learn more about safe mode or keep reading and we will provide details as you need them.

Computer does not start up

Yesterday afternoon I wanted to start my PC so I just turned it on, but after the Windows 10 loading screen with the spinning balls (signifying loading) my screen stays gray/black. How do I fix this without formatting the whole hard drive?
I do get into Bios4, don’t know if that will help me.Best reply (via FalconLover on 29-11-2016 18:24)Tuesday, November 29, 2016 17:45deathgrunt I had the exact same problem the other day, up to 2x.
W10 itself said that no issues were found, but after I took off the power for a while and tried to boot again (via the SSD, so not USB) – it just booted on (once directly, other time after I got a notification that I had problems booting “last time”).
There was (irregular) activity on the SSD, but even after an hour of waiting, that stayed on, with nothing happening… so then I just ran that repair stick [Modified 14% by deathgrunt on 29-11-2016 17:47]All Responses Tuesday, November 29, 2016 17:28Actions: MAX3400XBL: OctagonQontrol Hanging and Startup Problems troubleshooter ?

Asus laptop does not boot

Many problems that cause a blank screen can be solved by resetting the computer. Go to Performing a laptop hard reset for detailed steps to reset your notebook.
The screen may remain black if there is a damaged video card driver or a problem with the LCD backlight. To test the screen, connect an external monitor and restart the computer. This test is useful if the screen is black, but you can hear that the computer is active.
When you upgrade the BIOS on your notebook, your hard drives save and copy of the previous BIOS version. As long as the hard drive is still working, you can restore and install the last good version of the BIOS.
