In 2016 we launched our Social Area that was born with the aim of contributing to the social and cultural development of our environment, promoting values such as respect, equality and solidarity. The initiative grew thanks to the support of CaixaBank through Obra Social «la Caixa».
In cooperation with the Provincial Council of Pontevedra, we worked with teenagers from the Príncipe Felipe center through cinema, organizing short film sessions to encourage debate on issues such as healthy eating, sexuality, gender violence or climate change.
In the same sense, we have also presented short films at the Filmoteca de Galicia (CGAI) and we have participated in different film cycles such as Marxes Fílmicas del Museo Etnolóxico de Ribadavia, the Ciclo de cine y Medicina del Colegio de Médicos de Ourense, or the Ciclo Curtas e Natureza en Cabo Udra, organized by the City Council of Bueu.
Trying to promote cooperation between festivals, we have collaborated with festivals such as: Festival Internacional de Cinema AVANCA, El Meu Primer Festival, Flop Festival de Pontevedra, Festival Internacional de Cine Infantil de Ames, Ambienta – Mostra Internacional de cinema LGBTIQA+, Festival SonRías Baixas, etc.

The project was completed with an ephemeral art intervention promoted by the Plastic Arts Department of the IES, which consisted of placing a large sign at the entrance of the plot with the name of the place: «Preitoeira» made with plant elements collected in the mountain itself. «O Monte Vivo» will be continued with another collaboration of the Welding Cycle, which will install an «inclusive bench» of different heights for all kinds of people, thus favoring intergenerational relationships and enjoyment of the mountain. n
